What is microblading?
Microblading is very basically surface tattoing of your eyebrows, enabling natural bespoke eyebrows designed with you, to suit your face. Small, precise strokes using a fine micoblading pen mimic real hairs giving a natural look, the ‘hairs’ are individually drawn.
Contra Indications – Who cannot have Micro Blading
Pregnant, breastfeeding, and diabetic clients should avoid the procedure all together. Clients must be over 18, cannot have had Botox in the area for 4 months or sunbed treatments for 2 weeks. Note : Excessively oily skin, larger pores, thicker skin and eyebrow keratosis can affect the absorption of the pigment. Some medication also affect the result but this will all be discussed in the consultation.
Why you can trust The Beauty Spa Warlingham
Our Technician Keeley has undergone rigorous and detailed training by the leading provider of Micro Blading Training. This training has spanned months of actual real time micro blading and follow ups, with examinations which our technician has fulfilled. The Beauty Spa’s investment in providing this bespoke treatment is un-parralled.
The Beauty Spa Warlingham insists on a consultation. This is free and your technician will discuss with your expectations, and explain the process to you. If you decide to go ahead an allergy test will be done. This is a very simple procedure where a small amount of product will be topically applied to your skin.
Prep-work you need to be aware of
Leading up to your appointment you should not pluck or wax your brows for 3 weeks? Our technician will be making your new brow shape based on your real eyebrows. A patch test will need to be done 2 days before your actual appointment.
What will happen on my first appointment (after consultation)
Your technician will map out your brows with a removable pencil. This is a bespoke lengthy service designed and administered particular to you and your face shape. Your face will be measured, and based on your face shape and structure you and the technician will discuss the expected results so you get the most natural finish. This appointment is up to 3 hours long.
A topical numbing cream is applied so you experience no pain or discomfort.
Bespoke Follow up treatment.
A follow up appointment will be booked 4 weeks after your first treatment. This is usually a 2 hour appointment to add more pigment to the brow area. This is because as the area is healing, some parts may not ‘hold’ as well as others and you may have a few patches that need more colour. This is completely normal and everyone heals differently. Whatever the case, we advise you to always come back to clinic for your retouch. It may be that you or our technician also feel a little ‘tweak’ is necessary which will be done at this time.
There is after care. A topical tattoo has been administered, you need to treat it your procedure like a tattoo, and although your eyebrows will now look done, there will be scabbing. Do not use skin care products and makeup on the area for a minimum of ten days following the application. Avoid touching the area. Just like a tattoo do not pick, peel or scratch the area, No tanning, fake or direct sunlight, no swimming, avoid increased sweating, and exercising for up to 10 days following the procedure. Once you’re healed, The Beauty Spa recommends applying a layer of SPF 30-50 to prevent fading.
How long will they last?
This is a topical tattoo, results should last 12-18 months, many experience a longer result. A lot depends on the colour you decide upon at the time of microblading. You may want to re micro blade in the future.
